Motion graphics from one sentence.

Motion Designer is the OpenVids agent for motion graphics. Describe a title, a lower third, a logo sting, or a caption style in one sentence, and it builds the template right in your project. The template is live, so you can scrub it, tweak it, and reuse it.

Four templates, four sentences

These are the four motion templates in the demo project on the landing page, each with the prompt that made it.

  • Title

    Title Reveal

“Restrained title reveal for the cold open, white on black.”

Pins down the tone, where it sits in the film, and the palette.

  • Lower third

    Lower Third A

“Lower third: name and role, left aligned, no box.”

Says what goes in, how it lines up, and one thing to leave out.

  • Logo sting

    Logo Sting

“Logo sting that lands on the score’s final hit.”

Ties the timing to the music instead of a number of frames.

  • Caption style

    Caption Style A

“Caption style for voiceover, 2 lines max.”

Names the job and sets a hard limit the style must keep.

None of these is a long brief. A good motion graphics prompt says what the graphic is, how it should feel, and the one rule it must not break. “Restrained” and “no box” do more work than a paragraph of adjectives.

Live templates you can scrub

A Motion Designer template lives in the project, and it stays live. You can try it on the landing page: hover or drag across a frame to scrub the template.

← →
Step one frame on the ruler.
Shift + ← →
Step one second.
Space
Pause.

Tweak it until it sits right, then reuse it. In the demo Story Graph the same Logo Sting is attached to two chapters, Meet OpenVids and the Outro.

A title sting, on the timeline

Motion Designer takes prompts in the chat like the other agents, and in Edit mode the result goes straight onto the timeline. From the demo project:

“Build a restrained title sting for the trailer, under six seconds.”

It came back as a 6-second title sting at 24 fps that resolves over the workshop wide shot, with a short hold before the interview begins. In the “Try an edit” demo at the bottom of the landing page, “Add a title” puts a Title Reveal on the motion track in the same way.

Captions as a style

Caption Style A is the template behind the trailer’s captions, written for voiceover with two lines at most. All seven captions in the trailer use it, including these three:

  1. Built for people who cut for a living.
  2. Every frame, exactly where you left it.
  3. Agent-first. Keyboard-native.

In the demo Story Graph, Caption Style A is attached to the Feature tour chapter.

When graphics collide

Graphics that look right on their own can fight each other on the timeline. In the demo render, render QA caught “Agent-first. Keyboard-native.” sitting on top of Lower Third A for four seconds, and raised the caption above the lower third from 00:22 to 00:26. An agent watches every render that way, so overlaps like this get caught before export.
